    Dear Constituent,

The General Assembly has closed for the 2009 session, and I have now completed my first session in the assembly. I must say it was dynamic. Assuming office after a special election in January I was a little handicapped in the beginning, having to start later than all the other legislators, but after the first few days, I was in full swing.
I thank you for all your e-mails, letters and phone calls informing me of your position on issues before the assembly. I assure you, every letter and e-mail was read and every phone call was answered. I appreciate your opinions and value your input.
Soon I will announce a series of “Town Hall Meetings” to begin receiving information from you on the concerns and issues you want me to address in the next General Assembly. I will call on you for your suggestions and ideas. I will work for you and with you. I ask each of you to get involved and participate in making the decisions that affect and improve the quality of our lives--whether at work, at play or at home.
I will be available to you for civic association meetings, neighborhood gatherings, and church services. You can contact me at: General Assembly Building,
    Room 522
    Post Office Box 406
    Richmond, VA 23218
or by phone at: (804) 697-1070,
    and by e-mail at: deldmcquinn@house.virginia.gov

This newsletter is the first of an on-going series of information bulletins I will send you to keep you informed on legislative matters in state government. In this first edition, I have provided you with information on legislation enacted by the General Assembly that may of interest to you.
Thank you for your support. We will be meeting soon.

    Sincerely,

    Delores McQuinn
